*** Midtown Madness 2 Widescreen Tool by mastertheknife ***

v1.0 - 11/10/2007

The need for this tool:
-------------------------
Midtown Madness 2 can work nicely with widescreen without stretching or cropping some top and bottom (also known as VERT-, Midtown Madness 2 is HOR+)

The problem is that midtown Madness 2 will not list widescreen resolutions above 1440x900 and this is where is the tool is useful, Especially cause LCDs run best at their native resolution.

The resolutions:
-------------------
This tool adds the common widescreen resolutions:
1280x720 (16:9 - HDTV 720i/p)
1280x800 (16:10 - typically found in laptops)
1440x900 (16:10 - typically found in 17"-19" widescreens)
1680x1050 (16:10 - typically found in 20"-22" widescreens)
1920x1080 (16:9 - HDTV 1080i/p)
1920x1200 (16:10 - typically found in 24"+ widescreens)
2560x1600 (16:10 - typically found in 30"+ widescreens)

What it does\How it works:
--------------------------------
The only thing this tool does is editing your gfxconf.dat file, a file that stores the display settings used by Midtown Madness 2 and adds the resolutions listed above to your game.
It's harmless to run it multiple times, the tool ignores any resolution of the resolutions listed above that already exists.
gfxconf.dat is created automaticly by Midtown Madness 2 at the first run, or when using the redetect video shortcut.
Deleting gfxconf.dat is also harmless, as Midtown Madness 2 will automaticly redetect video and re-create the file.

How to use:
--------------
Just start the tool, navigate to your Midtown Madness 2 folder and select the file "gfxconf.dat". After running the tool your resolution will be 640x480 and new resolutions should show up in your Midtown Madness 2.

Got problems? Try deleting your gfxconf.dat file and Midtown Madness 2 will re-create it.

Help! I am using a resolution that isn't listed here!
----------------------------------------------------------
Due to my short time at home because of my army service, I haven't had the time to implement an option to add any resolution.
I'll add in the future if i will ever make another version, but for now your best luck is to edit the gfxconf.dat file with an hex editor and replace some resolution you don't need with a one of your desire.
