BASIC DESCRIPTION

This is the car that started the "hot-hatch" market! The Rabbit was introduced as the Mk1 Golf in Europe in the 70's and was sold here from 1975-84. The GTI, while sold in Europe for many years, didn't make it here until 1983, and all US Rabbits from 1980-84 differed from their European counterparts by having a different front fascia featuring rectangular headlights and corner-mounted turn signals. Fast for its day, the car was capable of smoking factory Mustangs and Camaros and it had exceptional grip. It's one of my favorite cars and I plan to own one someday, hopefully in the very near future.

FOOTNOTES

- The tuning is very accurate and true to the actual vehicle. I chose a three-speed automatic box because that is what was offered in lower-spec automatic Rabbits; the GTI actually as not offered with an automatic transmission. Some may think the handling is a little twitchy and imprecise, if that is the case for you just wait for the custom GTIs which stick to the road like glue!

- The small blocks surrounding the logos on the rear of the car don't perfectly match the color of the rear hatch, that's because they're not modeled into the rest of the car's surface.

- The normals have some hard edges and weird spots, I had trouble getting them to look right...sorry!
