Installation : Copy all files in this archive to your Midtown Madness directory. Usually under "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Midtown Madness\"

Known issues : Some reflections and shading on the side of some cars aren't symmetrical, but that's not a big deal. If some of the cars turn white and return to normal as if they were flashing and it does this frequently, just turn off your reflections. If you stay in an area too long, all the cars will pop up near you so that when you go to another area, there's like no cars around you. That's normal.

About the multiplayer issue, this hasn't been tested using multiplayer, but I'm sure that it will crash if you try since the original traffic mod did.

CarLoader : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). This car might not be compatible with CarLoader. If it isn't follow the following instructions. It will read the file as "(error) vptm2.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) vptm2.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "Traffic Mod 2". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "Traffic Mod 2" and select "View".

Recommended : Traffic on full for the best experience. It will look better with reflections on and Best Texture Filter off.

Notes from authors :
***************************************

It sure took a long time to make! There's a reason why it's 2.5 and not 2. It's because TM2 was planned a long time ago, but it was never finished. It was about halfway done and then it mysteriously vanished. So, since it was never released, this would be the second traffic mod, but it wasn't the second one planned. Yes the logos say Traffic Mod II and this readme says it's v2.5, but it's all the same.

This is a collection of cars that you would normally see everyday. We've got a good selection from most of the major companies, foreign and domestic. The models are excellent considering the poly and texture limit.

Qwerty:

Menus
The menus were inspired by a presentation I saw before school ended. It was pretty similar to what I incorporated into the screens. The original loading screen was done by Pooey, but once I finished the menus, I realized it looked out of place so I used his logos and put them on a different background image. I changed the vehicle selection screen (where the vehicle's models show up) to white because it just enhanced the details of the models. One of the beta testers said that the LOCKED cars look odd being so dark on a white screen. I think it gives it more of a mysterious feeling to it. The only thing that bugs be is the LOCKED logo doesn't blend too well with the background, but it's not too bad.

Ford LTD Taxi
The taxi was leftover from the original TM2. Since that was never finished, this just sat on my hard drive for a while. So when this came up and some of the requirements were bumped up, I revised the textures and it looks better than it originally did. This was based off the player version. I think the side wasn't modified, but the front, top, and rear were.

Taurus and Caravan
These are actually THE player versions with like a ton of polys shaved off. I also combined the textures and revised the mapping. They still look like the player versions so there's a few more cars people can stop asking about driving.

Chevy Impala taxi
This is Speedy's Impala. He gave it to me to finish. It was released as a low-poly player version (I don't think many people have this version of the Impala). I redid most of the body and redid the textures using the textures from the hi-poly player version and remapped it. This fixed a few bugs like the license plate and weird stance.

GMC Box Vans
I found perfect pictures on eBay and just had to make them. I originally wanted the delivery van blue, but someone suggested a UPS skin. I wanted to make a UPS truck, but the real UPS vans have a different body. But no one seems to mind. I also wanted to make a moving van, but I couldn't find any good pictures of them. So I made the step van.

Chevy Pickup
Found perfect pics and just made it. Didn't have any good pics of the wheels, so I just used the black steelies. I've seen plenty of white Chevy pickups with dark wheels so it's too out of place.

Lincoln Town Car limo
All big cities needs a limo roaming around. And what better than a Lincoln? The pictures on eBay were of a standard sedan, so some editing to the pictures were done. It turned out pretty good. It's even got the hood ornament if you look closely.

Volkswagen Jetta
Another common car. And what better color for a late '80s/early '90s European sedan than bright red? Perfect pictures on eBay so here it is.

Stereo:

Lexus
I made this car specifically for the traffic mod because someone requested it. It has mostly photo textures, with the top texture hand drawn. It looks like it's really long and skinny, but I used actual measurements and the real thing is pretty long too. There's really not much else to say...

Honda CRX
The model of this car was made by Canibuz, then I reduced some polies from it and made textures. Canibuz made all the executive decisions (paint colour, license plate, ...) and I actually carried them out. I think its a little low but then, Chicago is mostly flat anyway and the roads are kept up amazingly well (no potholes) so its all good.

Pooey:

Traffic Bus
The bus included in this traffic mod is the 1983 Flyer E902. This is a bus often seen in Vancouver, BC. The number 27, Joyce Station is the bus I take the most, and for the longest time. It was originally a player vehicle in the works, until Traffic Mod 2 started, I cut off some polies and sent it over for packaging. I was going to release this, but I was trying to get the game to work with multiple colours schemes, and I couldn't, so with that problem, I didn't want to work on the dash yet, nor did I go searching for deisel sounds. But here you are, enjoy.

Do not complain. Just be thankful you got a second Traffic Mod. Now stop reading and go enjoy it.
