CarLoader : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). The Taurus is not compatible with CarLoader. It will read the file as "(error) vp95sho.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) vp95sho.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "'95 Ford Taurus SHO". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "'95 Ford Taurus SHO" and select "View".

Recommended : 80-100% Physics, anything lower and the car's steering gets too sensitive and it may tip on two wheels.

Notes : Based on one of the most "ordinary" car, the Taurus SHO is a sports model of the Taurus. "SHO" stands for "Super High Output." The Taurus SHO is basically a Taurus with new lower plastic trim, bumpers, and drivetrain. It uses headlights, front fenders, and hood from the Mercury Sable. Because of the gap between the Sable's headlights, Ford used some clear plastic "fishtanks" to fill the gap between the grille and headlights. The SHO comes with a 3.0L V6 and 5-speed manual transaxle standard or an optional 3.2L V6 and a 4-speed automatic (available on 1993 and later models). The 3.0L produces around 220 horsepowers and 200 ft-lbs of torque. The 3.2L is slightly more powerful.

This MM re-creation has recessed rear license plate area, 3D dual exhaust system, 3D spoiler, 3D engine badges, and 3D mirrors. I blew my poly count budget on this car. Since it's so round, I used 1600 polys! The sounds are from the in-game Mustang. The drive sounds were modfied slightly. I know it might seem annoying and throaty, but it's pretty accurate. The horn is from the '68 Mustang in-game and it works well. The selection screen sound is a clip of "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. If you have a problem with the sounds, turn off your speakers. The tuning is great. It handles just like a sports car. Stiffer suspension and more acceleration and top speed. Just tap the handbrakes (after getting to above 50 MPH and starting a turn) to get it sliding. Sometimes you don't even need to hit the handbrake and it'll star sliding! If you start to oversteer, give lots of counter steer to correct it. It takes some getting used to the tuning. It can do 0-60 in about 7 seconds (official time is 7.7 seconds with auto) and a top speed of about 135-160 MPH (160 is pushing it to the max). This is the only Taurus (excluding the old MT5 models) that came with a manual transaxle. Each color has it's own license plate (courtesy of ACME License Plate Maker - http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/). The colors are a good selection. You get six very popular colors. I had to make up the names of the black and the red because I couldn't find the official names of the colors. The side and rear windows receive some minor tinting. I tried the best I could to make everything fit since the Sable and the Taurus has different dashboards. Although, the SHO's cluster has the exact same layout as the Sable's, except that the tach and speedo go up higher. The steering wheel looks like crap. I blame the stupid alpha channels.

Known issues : There are some weird shading and reflection problems around the car. The engine badges on the side of the car "flickers" when the camera is zoomed out. The wheels sometimes go thru the fenders on turns. These are not major problems. You might not even notice them.
