Thanks to : Thanks to the many members of the Taurus Car Club of America (http://www.tauruscarclub.com) for all their help and their vast knowledge on the Ford Taurus. And thanks to anyone I forgot.

CarLoader : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). The Taurus is not compatible with CarLoader. It will read the file as "(error) vp95bullcop.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) vp95bullcop.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "'95 Ford Taurus Police Package". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "'95 Ford Taurus Police Package" and select "View".

Recommended : 80-100% Physics, anything lower and the car's steering gets too sensitive and it may tip on two wheels.

Notes : The Taurus Police Package is basically a Taurus L with a "chipped" 3.8L V6 that produced 160hp and 220 ft-lbs of torque. It also came with some heavy duty parts for fleet services. I've decided to "swap" the drivetrain with a SHO drivetrain so it would make this police package even better. The SHO drivetrain came with a 3.0L V6 and 5-speed manual transaxle standard or an optional 3.2L V6 and a 4-speed automatic (available on 1993 and later models). The 3.0L produces around 220 horsepowers and 200 ft-lbs of torque. The 3.2L is slightly more powerful.

This MM re-creation has recessed rear license plate area, 3D dual exhaust system, 3D lightbar unit, and 3D mirrors. I blew my poly count budget on this car. Since it's so round, I used 1600 polys! The sounds are from the in-game Mustang. The drive sounds were modfied slightly. I know it might seem annoying and throaty, but it's pretty accurate. The horn is from the '68 Mustang in-game and it works well. The selection screen sound is a clip of "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar. If you have a problem with the sounds, turn off your speakers. The tuning is great. It handles just like a sports car. Stiffer suspension and more acceleration and top speed. Just tap the handbrakes (after getting to above 50 MPH and starting a turn) to get it sliding. Sometimes you don't even need to hit the handbrake and it'll start sliding! If you start to oversteer, give lots of counter steer to correct it. It takes some getting used to the tuning. It can do 0-60 in about 7 seconds (official time is 7.7 seconds with auto) and a top speed of about 135-160 MPH (160 is pushing it to the max). This is the only Taurus (excluding the old MT5 models) that came with a manual transaxle. Each color has it's own license plate (courtesy of ACME License Plate Maker - http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/). The colors are a good selection. They're the same selection from the '86 LTD cop, except better looking. The Taurus Police Package had the same dash and clusters as the stock model, except it had a 140 MPH "Certified Calibration" speedometer in place of the stndard 85 MPH speedometer. The steering wheel looks like crap. I blame the stupid alpha channels.

Known issues : There are some weird shading and reflection problems around the car. The wheels sometimes go thru the fenders on turns. These are not major problems. You might not even notice them.
