Credits : Thanks to 5tephen for all his help and advice. Without him, I might not have been able to make this. Thanks to RF_Speedy for making the Impala and the lightbar. Thanks to Addict and Rocket for making cop patches possible. And thanks to everyone at the BOX Designs Forums for their help and their comments.

Installation : Copy cpd.ar and mmcops.exe file to your Midtown Madness directory. Usually under "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Midtown Madness\" Then run MMCops.exe and click the button that adds the cops to the game. Then close MMCops.exe and run Midtown.

MM Car information:
New Car Models : Yes
New Textures : Yes
Custom Sounds : No
Custom Tuning : Yes
Dashboard : No
Damaged textures : Yes
Colors : CPD and Lamer Patrol
Rendering modes : Hardware Only!

CarLoader : CarLoader is a program that keeps track of cars and tracks for Midtown Madness. I suggest getting this program (http://drive.to/carloader). The cop patch is not compatible with CarLoader. It will read the file as "(error) cpd.ar". To fix it, let it finish loading, then right click "(error) cpd.ar" and select "Change Name" and change it to "Cop Patch". Move the picture that's included in the zip to your CarLoader images folder. To view the picture, right click "Cop Patch" and select "View".

Recommended : Reflections on and Best Texture Filter off.

Notes :

This cop patch has six popular police cars. They include the following cars: 1982 Chevrolet Impala, 1986 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, 1987 Dodge Aries, 1991 Chevrolet Caprice, 1991 Ford Taurus, and a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I know the Intrepid seems odd in a patch that has mostly '80s cars, but it won the popluar vote in a poll. The Aries was ment to be a joke. I mean seriously, don't you think it's funny that an '80s compact with a puny engine can catch up to your Panoz? These cars are not driveable because most of them have already been released. Even if you do manage to unlock them, they will only drive in reverse (ever watch the movie "Moving Violation?"). There are at least three of each car in the city, which totals 18 cars. They patrol in traffic and at the side of the road. They won't chase you if you're not breaking the law. They will chase you at speeds above 30 MPH. All the cars have Chicago Police Department paint schemes, except for the Dodge Aries, which has a Lamer Patrol paint scheme (for catching those 1337 mAd dr1\/3r5). The Impala suffers from having a shade of blue on what's suppose to be the white. It's really hard to change a blue car to a white car on a computer without screwing up the highlights. Be careful around these cops. They are mean. They will try to stay on your tail. Only 3 cops can chase you at the same time. I don't believe anyone has been able to raise the limit. If you're wondering how some of these cars can catch up to you, it's because they have NOS. Sometimes the cops will act like the Keystone Kops or the Three Stooges. They will crash into each other, drive on two wheels, do spins, etc. It's fun to watch sometimes. You can ram into them and flip them. They are light. They are light because of a couple of reasons. One reason was that they used to weigh twice as much and it would drop the traffic cops like lowriders. Lowering the mass fixed that a little bit. Lowering the mass also made the cars lean the correct way. I also fixed the crashing. On the previous cop patch, it would crash the game when you go back to the menu and re-race. Now it doesn't crash because it doesn't have as many cop cars.

Known issues :

No major problems. The lightbar are a standard blue and red. This is not an authentic CPD lightbar. One reason I used this one instead was because it looks better. Sorry if this disappoints anyone. Also, the lower LODs are boxes. They don't look anything like the H or M LOD. But you won't notice this a lot unless you use the V cam to drive. Sorry to those who use software render. I assumed that if you're running software render, you wouldn't be able to support all those polys of cop cars. Most of the cop cars haven't been majorly modified from the player vehicles.

Any problems, please post a topic on the BOX Designs Forums ( http://boxdesigns.teamdr.net/forum/index.php ) or the Revo Racing Forums ( http://198.165.66.10/revo/forums/index.php ).
